Fitment Notes
- Compressed Gas (CG) variant — features an inverted diaphragm specifically designed for control strategies that actively pressurize the top actuator chamber using CO2 or compressed air (e.g., drag racing CO2 systems, WRC-style compressed air setups). Not intended as a standard pneumatic boost reference wastegate.
- Direct fit upgrade to all Turbosmart Gen4 wastegates — mounting orientation is retained from the previous generation for easy swaps.
- Requires an external wastegate provision on the turbo manifold; not compatible with internal wastegate turbocharger setups without manifold modification or a custom manifold.
- Liquid cooling ports (1/8" NPT) are included but optional — the GenV's thermal design allows operation without coolant lines in most applications.
- Optional position sensor cap (sold separately) can be added for closed-loop boost control data logging strategies.

The Turbosmart TS-0554-1202 GenV ProGate WG50CG is a 50mm external wastegate purpose-built for CO2 drag racing and compressed air motorsport applications that require active top-chamber pressurization for large boost bandwidth control. Unlike standard pneumatic wastegates that rely on boost reference pressure alone, the CG variant uses an inverted diaphragm assembly designed to withstand the high-pressure differential created when CO2 or compressed air is actively biasing the upper actuator chamber against the spring — enabling a significantly wider range between minimum and maximum boost than a conventional setup allows.
The GenV platform represents a complete ground-up redesign of Turbosmart's external wastegate range, retaining only the Gen4 mounting orientation for direct backward compatibility. The body is constructed from high-temp 347 stainless steel with a Nitronic 60 valve guide for superior thermal fatigue resistance, and 17-7 PH stainless steel springs deliver class-leading spring rate consistency over extended service life. The CFD-optimized V-band flow path provides best-in-class exhaust flow for the 50mm category, and the infinitely rotatable actuator housing allows hose routing to be configured in any direction needed for the specific installation.
Installation requires a compatible turbo manifold with a 50mm V-band external wastegate port. The 1/8" NPT reference and cooling ports on both the cap and base provide full plumbing flexibility, and the included locking collar tool makes spring changes straightforward. An optional position sensor cap is available separately for tuners requiring closed-loop wastegate position data logging. This wastegate is best suited for drag racing teams and advanced motorsport builds using CO2 boost control strategies who need a high-flow, high-durability 50mm gate with the precision and adjustability of the GenV platform.
