These replacement mirror mounting gaskets, known as “mirror triangles” or “triangle gaskets” have been NLA from the factory for several years, and are severely prone to cracking/crumbling over time. In fact, it is extremely likely that your gaskets are either completely destroyed, poorly repaired, or have been replaced at some point in the past.
When these gaskets disintegrate, the failure can allow rain and moisture to enter the interior of the vehicle. This can result in damp carpet, mildew growth, and even running issues when the ECU in the passenger kick panel gets exposed to water from this issue. Also uncomfortable wind noise will typically be a symptom of failed mirror gaskets.
Our gaskets are made with a modern rubber compound rated specifically for use in the automotive industry and are a direct aftermarket replacement for the original part.
