The cars covered include all models SL280, SL300, SL320, SL500, SL600, SL60, SL73 years1990-2002. This specific controller fits the 90-93 cars and has 3 connectors as opposed to the later 2.

The R129 is one of my favorite timeless German classics (I own 2), but as everything in this world, it\'s not perfect. The hydraulic tops in these cars, while way ahead of their time in terms of hydraulic and mechanical engineering, did not utilize superior materials in their construction, simply because modern materials didn\'t exist 20 years ago. On top of that, the electronics are old school digital technology that is either on or off, and not rated for the powerful current modern batteries and alternators can deliver . I saw cars with 240k miles and 13k miles have the same problem: a fried RST controller. Hence why I decided to take matters into my own hands and start to repair these controllers and upgrade the small chips and diodes inside to handle more current so this doesn\'t happen again.
