THE QRT DELUXE VS. THE QRT STANDARD — KEY DIFFERENCE
The most important distinction between the QRT Deluxe (Q-8101-L) and the QRT Standard (Q-8201-L) is in how tensioning works:
QRT Standard (Q-8201-L): Semi-automatic. The operator hooks the J-hook to the wheelchair frame, and must then manually turn the single tensioning knob to tighten the securement webbing. Tension is applied by the operator and stays fixed at the set level.
QRT Deluxe (Q-8101-L): Fully automatic. The retractors are self-tensioning — once the J-hook is connected to the wheelchair frame, the retractors continuously and automatically take up slack to keep the wheelchair firmly secured throughout the trip, even as the vehicle moves. The dual knobs are supplementary, allowing the operator to add extra tension manually if desired. For most installations, the knobs are used only as a backup check — not as the primary means of tensioning.
This continuous self-tensioning action is the defining feature of the QRT Deluxe and the reason it has been the fleet industry's preferred system for decades.
