- Why you need this kit: The Ford C-6 transmission was designed for two basic types of vehicles. Automobiles with higher horsepower engines (mostly Big Blocks) and trucks that needed a transmission that would be durable enough to handle heavy loads and the power of a big block truck motor. However, this transmission was manufactured with only 3 or 4 friction clutches in the high gear clutch drum.
- The Solution: The Alto Power Pak is a drop in kit that does not require any machining. This kit prevents, corrects and helps reduce the complaints of: 2-3 long slide with tail bump, 2-3 slide bang at ¾ throttle, slide bump reverse engagements, 2-3 slide or 2-3 slip and premature clutch burn up due to being under capacity for the vehicle application. The contents of our special kit allows you to increase the friction clutch capacity to correct the above mentioned complaints. The additional capacity also increases clutch pack performance and durability. Please keep in mind that this kit is an upgrade kit for stock applications. We also offer an Alto Red Eagle Kolene Steel version of this kit for High Horsepower applications.
