One complete, remanufactured cylinder head to suit early (1965) BSA A65 Lightning & other twin carb variants. This is the often desired small port head that is reported to deliver more useable, lower rpm power for most applications. Note this head as supplied is drilled for (2) 5/16” head bolts at the pushrod tunnel, please verify your application or be prepared to drill for 3/8” bolts.
Included is one complete, assembled head as shown with both inlet & exhaust rocker assemblies.
Head has been cleaned & inspected. Valve guides have been replaced with premium Kibblewhite C630 bronze pieces then honed to final clearance. Kibblewhite powdered metal valve seat inserts have been installed at all four ports. NOS G&S inlet valves and Alpha exhaust valves have been fit. Kibblewhite valve springs have been installed with their HT chromoly spring seats, retainers & collets. Head gasket sealing surface has been lightly skimmed to ensure flatness.
New valve seat inserts permit renewing this head to as new dimensions for valve placement & spring height, effectively correcting any valve recession from prior valve jobs. Seats have been cut on a Sunnen VGS-20 seat & guide machine using modern multi-angle seat profiles.
