1956 Pontiac D-32960 NASCAR developmental dual-quad setup Rochester Complete-NICE!.
This is a complete dual quad setup with number matching intake and carburetors as well as throttle linkage. I purchased this at an estate sale. It has been stored for my years in a dry basement. The home owner was heavily into NASCAR and was a teenager when this setup was factory so it makes sense the he had it in his possession.
This is a highly documented 1956 Pontiac D-32960 developmental dual-quad setup with its original, transmission-correct Hydramatic Rochester 4GC (#7010600) carburetors and correct linkage. Because only about 200 of these \"D-prefix\" developmental intakes were ever cast by General Motors, your specific setup commands a premium over standard 1956 dual-quad production units (casting number 523554). [1, 2]
The D-32960 prototype dual-quad setup utilized two identical Rochester 4GC (four-barrel) carburetors. Unlike many production multi-carb configurations that used a distinct primary and secondary carburetor, the D-32960 setup paired two identical units, each equipped with its own individual choke and idle systems. The specific model part numbers depended entirely on the vehicle\'s transmission: [1, 2].
There are no cracks or broken studs, etc. in the manifold. The car linkages work very well and are free and not stuck. From what I understand, this is the complete setup but please do your own research.
Just for full disclosure, I am a Mopar guy so I am not well versed on Chevy/Pontiac products. But, from everything that I have been reading, this is a very rare setup.
offer with confidence. I am an honest seller and do my best to describe items correctly. Keep in mind this is HEAVY. I will weigh it but would estimate it to about 60lbs. So, shipping will be actual. I will SECURELY box or crate this up to you get your product as you see it. Of course a tracking number will be supplied.
Thank you for looking!
