BACKGROUND
BMW switched to the aluminum subframes and aluminum rear sway bar brackets with one mounting point for the E39 chassis. The OEM bracket is a frequent failure on all E39 5 series models, especially on the sport package models and M5.
It used to be the only options were to buy an OEM aluminum bracket from the dealership or online retailer for $65-$100 for a part that was guaranteed to break again or purchase expensive aftermarket alternative brackets.THE SOLUTIONWe've created a bracket that is the same OEM design but made the part out of steel instead of aluminum. Since steel is approximately 3x stronger than aluminum, this bracket won't break under normal use. So what you end up with is a part that fits exactly the same as the OEM part, that won't break, and is significantly less expensive. Additionally, the brackets are also plated in zinc to prevent rust and ensure maximum longevity.Lastly, since these brackets mimic the OEM design, the OEM rubber bushings can be used to eliminate the need to use polyurethane that creaks and binds.We recommend replacing the brackets in pairs for a worry-free set up.
